1960s French Couture Green Glass and Pearl Statement Earrings

These sizeable 1960s French couture earrings are very high quality and may originally have been made to accompany a haute couture collection. Small, specialist Parisian workshops produced jewellery for many of the major couture houses during this period, and such pieces were rarely signed. Each earring is centred with a large apple-green glass bead, carved with a swirling organic pattern. Above and below sit clusters of two-tone glass faux pearls in soft ivory and peach-cream tones, creating a rich contrast with the vivid green centres. Unusually for earrings of this period and scale, these are designed for pierced ears rather than clips, fastening with lever-back closures discreetly attached behind the upper pearl cluster. The earrings are in excellent vintage condition. There is the slightest trace of tarnishing to the closures, but this is not noticeable when worn. Please refer to the measurements below for scale.
