These late 1960s or early 1970s clip-on earrings are unsigned, but we previously sold the near-identical coordinating necklace bearing a Norman Hartnell label and as such, we are attributing to the celebrated British couture house. Hartnell established a dedicated jewellery company in the 1950s, producing high-quality costume necklaces and earrings to complement the house’s glamorous couture. Crafted from gold-tone base metal with a high-shine yellow-gold finish, each earring is formed around a ridged square resembling an oversized buckle. Three articulated strands of sparkling rhinestones pass through the square as though threaded through a belt, creating considerable movement and drama when worn. They fasten at the reverse with clip-on clasps. In excellent vintage condition with all of the rhinestones present. There is some slight tarnishing to the reverse of the clips, but this is not visible when worn. Please refer to the measurements below for scale. MEASUREMENTS LENGTH - 2 in. (5 cm) WIDTH - 0.5 in.
