The Upcycled Firebird Zebra Denim Jacket transforms a vintage adidas Firebird track jacket through NTMB’s approach to reconstruction and upcycling. The original black tracksuit becomes the base for an all-over patchwork made from reclaimed blue denim scraps. Each denim piece is individually cut, positioned and sewn by hand to recreate an irregular zebra-inspired pattern across the front, back and sleeves. The contrast between the black technical fabric, original white stripes and different shades of blue denim creates a new surface while preserving the identity and construction of the original vintage garment. Raw and frayed denim edges emphasize the handmade process behind each piece.
